We believe that smoothie bowls are more like a meal replacement than a snack, so you better make sure your ingredients are acting like a meal! This means you should be getting protein, fats and carbs. The carbs are easy (fruit, duh), as is adding a packet of Pure2 protein, but what about the fat? We'll let you in on a little Elevated secret...We're BIG fans of adding avocado to smoothie bowls. This super food is a fantastic source of "good fat" and makes the smoothie bowl rich and creamy without subtracting from any of the fruit flavor. It's a win-win!
Quickly and conveniently get a wide variety of nutrients that taste great all in one cold, tasty treat with this delicious smoothie bowl recipe.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl
8oz non-dairy milk
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 small/medium avocado
1 packet Pure2 vanilla protein powder
1 Tbs chia seeds
1 cup frozen cauliflower
For toppings: fresh banana, shaved coconut, mixed berries
Add all ingredients to blender and mix until smooth. Add small amounts of milk to mix if it's too thick to blend.
Top with sliced banana and fresh strawberries
Pro-tip: the more frozen ingredients you can add, the thicker your bowl will be. Try freezing your bowl ingredients beforehand for best results.
Cauliflower is touted for its incredible cancer fighting properties, and once blended you can't even taste it! Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, are rich in antioxidants, and they provide fiber, iron, and calcium.
